KEY UNIVERSITY PROJECTS

DISSERTATION

For my dissertation I carried out extensive research into the impact of visual social media in relation to the millenial consumer, exploring what impact this is having within the fashion industry and how is it affecting buying behaviour. Within my research I carried out interviews with Eve Lee, founder of 'the digi fairy' and Sedge Beswick, global social media manager aat ASOS, in order to conclude a judgement of the direction of social media in 2016.

FASHION MAJOR PROJECT

From my dissertation I recognised the growing importance of consumer engagement for retailers and developed a digital concept for ASOS within an offline space. ASOS Explore is a geographically tagged campaign, rewarding consumers for reaching a pre determined location, operating via the ASOS mobile app. Outcomes for this project included producing a detailed business plan, demonstating the logistics of the concept, and also a marketing plan, with promotional material and an online website.

TRENDS FORECASTING

This project explored the process of trends forecasting, connecting the link between identifying threads to create future trend concepts. From extensive research into key drivers I created the trend 'Parallel Haze', a trend that is no longer restricted by gender with the key focus being 'gender blurring'.  Producing the trend forecasting book of our own trends was a great way to visualise the trends, aswell as extensive research into a range of sources bring required.

INTERNATIONAL RETAILING

PROJECTS

As part of my international retailling module, I created a business plan proposing the international expansion of boxpark. The strategy of internationalisation was carefully considered, carrying out primary research to understand the how viable the proposal is, along with market scanning of potential countries, SWOT and PEST analysis and future growth strategy.
